Small plaintiff side employment law firm in the City of Downey is hiring a law clerk.
Our firm only represents employees and our cases involve claims of discrimination, wrongful termination, sex or race harassment, failure to accommodate disabilities, unpaid wages, and other claims on behalf of employees.
Our firm is a low volume practice that prides itself in properly prosecuting each individual case.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate is someone who is looking to do plaintiff's work and more specifically representing employees in employment related claims.
This job is also ideal for someone looking to learn about litigation, trials, and hands on representation of clients.
The law student would be assisting with the following:
responding to and propounding discovery, drafting complaints, handling law and motion matters, research, interviewing and interacting with clients, reviewing and analyzing documents and deposition testimony, and helping prepare cases for trial.
Requirements:
Strong document review skills; highly motivated; attention to detail; focused and disciplined individual able to work in a fast-paced environment; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and detail-oriented skills; excellent case management skills Spanish language skills would also be helpful.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
